Description of Night Light

I believe the moon was put there as a night light and a reflector of its source, the sun. Having a moon shows that we are not in total darkness at night. It reminds me of what Jesus said when asked by the apostles to show them the Father. Jesus said, “if you’ve seem me, you have seen the Father, but the Father is greater than I am, and the light that I receive is not of my own but comes from the Father.” In other words, Jesus the (the moon) is the reflector of God the Father (the sun) not the source of the light. Bottom line, the sun and moon is a heavenly graphical representation of, God the Father, and God the Son.
